ID : 47238
« back to classes page
ClassGraphic Known by many as the “Jewel of the Meadowlands,” the Sawmill Wildlife Management Area is the oldest protected wetlands  in the NJ Meadowlands District - and is home to a remarkable variety of birds, fish and other wildlife. Before setting out in the company of experienced guides, students will receive a briefing conducted by a senior Hackensack Riverkeeper staffperson who will explain the organization’s ongoing work and mission; and speak about some of the creatures you are most likely to encounter while on the water and in the wetlands.

PLEASE NOTE: We offer  both single kayaks & tandem kayaks that fit two paddlers. These will be distributed on a first come, first served basis upon arrival at Laurel Hill Park.

If you need kayaking lessons ahead of the tour you can register for them individually through the Hackensack Riverkeepers.
The next lessons will be held on July 15 and 22.
