ClassGraphic In three sessions, discover the ancient Japanese art of Ikebana, part of the Buddhist tradition from the Rokkakudo Temple in Kyoto. Learn to place fresh flowers into beautiful arrangements that brighten a room, please the eye and refresh the spirit. No previous experience is needed to incorporate peace, beauty and floral meditation into your summer decor. Class takes place at Montclair Tutoring, 119 Grove Street in Montclair.

Please read:  Flowers are included. Come prepared with a low, wide dish that can hold 1-2 inches of water and a kenzan (pin holder aka flower frog) that is 3 inches wide. (Kenzans can be purchased the first night for $35.) Also bring a pair of ikebana scissors or regular gardening shears. Students can expect to spend approx. $30 on the materials. Items generally available at craft, gardening, stores or Amazon.
