Often called "the rainbow on the hill," Montclair's famous Presby Iris Gardens contain over 14,000 irises of approximately 3,000 varieties from all over the world and produce over 100,000 blooms over the course of the season. The Gardens were started in the 1920s as a memorial to Frank H. Presby, one of the founders of the American Iris Society and a Montclair local. Learn how the history of the Gardens at Presby entwines with the history of Montclair, its active citizens, and its early cultural scene. May is the perfect time of year to learn more about this unique park and to visit the irises in bloom.
