Registration closes May 18. No refunds. We'll start out at the remarkable new Studio Museum of Harlem, a building faced in a series of black concrete frames that cost $160 million to create, taking a docent tour of two new exhibitions of exciting emerging artists. We'll also have a chance to explore the museum's other treasures on your own, including the gift shop.
We'll walk 5 blocks to an early soul food dinner at the United House of Prayer for All People Cafeteria, one of Harlem's hidden gems that has attracted headliners at the old Apollo Theater like Luther Vandross and Dionne Warwick, before enjoying a soulful gospel concert at the Convent Avenue Baptist Church. Then we'll return home.
IMPORTANT NOTES: This trip takes place rain or shine. This trip includes a 5-block walk. Dinner is included in the price. We also ask that each guest make a $5 donation to the church when the collection basket is passed during the concert.
